November Northern Clinics

It has been another busy weekend, out and about in the world of side saddle and I've just about recovered. I've had clinics at three locations - Friday at Greenlands Equestrian Centre (Carlisle), Saturday and Sunday at Totleywells and The Drum RDA (Edinburgh). Weather played a big role as well, with freezing conditions on Friday and flooding on Sunday - wet socks and cold feet were the order for the weekend but it didn't dampen the spirits of the riders and horses in our series of winer clinics.

There has been a mix of seasoned veterans, relative newcomers and side-saddle first timers across the three venues and it's always encouraging to see the enthusiasm as each one enters the arena. I always find it such a thrill when people are setting their goals for the forthcoming year whether that's a first-time local event, the SSA Nationals, HOYS or London International and I will support and assist you to achieve those goals.

We tried out a few different combinations of saddles for some riders and a couple of them have gone out on hire - I'll look forward to see how things progress in their journeys. I've still got more saddles for sale or hire if anyone is interested.
Over the weekend, I was fabulously assisted by Alison at Totleywells and Lucy at The Drum, helping riders to saddle up and support throughout each day's sessions. Area 9 Chairman Steve McGill couldn't keep away and there are threats around his Christmas jumper - so watch this space for the Christmas clinics 27th & 28th December with Area 9 and also 6th & 7th December in Beverley, Yorkshire. Check out my other posts for current clinic dates in 2026.
